Episode 7 - Travel

Music touring makes up less than 3 % of all global travel but at any given time 24 hours a day there are tens of thousands of show crew boarding flights or checking into hotels and all of them are being led by a tour manager. When you go on tour, From the moment you walk out of your house to the moment you return it is the tour managers responsibility to make sure the crew and the artist can travel to the show and back safely and also within budget So whether it be on a plane, tour bus, train or by van, touring is the business of travel and a tour manager needs to be a jack of all trades when it comes to this part of the job but also learn that a travel agent is like another “tour manager” that’s going to save your butt when things go wrong. A great tour manager leads his/ her crew into tour like its battle: organized and confident but also creates the Rockstar experience for the artist smooth, discreet and sometimes flashy So today we will cover the basics of travel with 2 seasoned pros Travel agent Molly Williams and hotel rep Jaimie Klein.

Episode 9 - Settlement

In this session we’re going to cover the art form of the deal. A settlement is the process of getting paid in show business and it’s usually the tour managers job to reconcile that transaction. It’s imperative a TM can recognize numerical errors and foul play so they can end the night with a handshake instead of a fist With the help of our distinguished tour accountants Morgan dentch with Harry styles Ali Akins with Zach brown band and Jordan Yousem with AEG We pull the curtain back on settlement and teach you a thing or two to help close out your show.
